Top 10

2012 ebber ud i dag.

2012 ends tonight. What a year! I am so thankful for my family, which now include two wonderful boys and the greatest husband. I am as happy as could be! As I've done before, this year I have also gathered some of my favorite layouts.

Welcome 2013
Happy New Year!

My December didn't turn out as planned and hoped for. Din't bake cookies, wasn't creative at all and my December Daily is nothing but foundation pages. A dark shadow cast over our Christmas spirit when a good friend was hit by a car on Dec 3 and culminated with his funeral this Friday. All my thought and prayers went to him, his wife and two boys. This tragic accident naturally set the agenda, but our son requested a tree, so last weekend we decorated the house and got a Christmas tree. Today we had a snowstorm, so I will get my acts together and find the Christmas spirit in time for Melvins first Christmas - and will soon start to really (I mean really) look forward towards our long Asia-travels!

Rigtig glædelig jul!

Have a merry Christmas!

December Daily [Foundation pages]

This year I was actually finished with my foundation pages for the december album before December 1. But I misplaces the mini album for days and got behind despide my effort to be 'on time' this year! Just isn't suppose to happen for me I guess!
These past weeks I've been busy with Christmas photography, but with all sessions done and only editing left, I am happy to get creative with paper again...Here is the album front and foundation pages for each day till Christmas Eve.

Look at you

Love these photos of my boy sitting at the table. Guess it's because this is what I see when I run around (cleaning) the house: A happy boy excited to see what I do, chewing on his toys and then 'dropping' them on the floor! I truly have a great life...

Dubai on my mind

Asbjørns grandparents brought a Lego model of Burj Kalifa from their visit to Dubai, so he could build the skyscraper before going to see the real deal. We start our upcoming two month Asia travels with relaxation in Dubai on Jan 1.

Remember the RED ribbon? {World AIDS Day}

AIDS er her endnu.

Do you remember the RED ribbon? It's been a while since I've seen the red awareness ribbon. Seems like it's more pink these days! December 1 is World AIDS Day and like many other Danes today I will now speak about a vital matter. I am going to speak about HIV and AIDS. The disease from the 80s which we hardly ever talk about anymore. Perhaps because we think the risk of someone we know becoming infected is not very big. Or perhaps we would rather not be reminded of the true severity of HIV.

I created two cards for this event. To help spread awareness and put the RED ribbon back on the agenda. AIDS is still here.

For many years HIV was a death sentence. No knowledge, no cure. Only lives that ended far too soon. Today HIV-positive people can get access to treatment and live for as long as everyone else - at least in Denmark. The life-sustaining medicine not only keeps the disease at bay. Because of the effectiveness of today’s medicine, people with controlled HIV do not have to fear infecting others anymore, neither the one they love nor the child they wish to have one day. This is how far we have come today.
Unfortunately the disease has a severe sequela. The sequela is called HIV phobia – the fear of being infected in situations that are totally safe – and this sequela especially affects friends, colleagues and close family. It only takes a touch, a hug, a kiss, a scratch on the finger or a rough tackle on the football field to kick-start the feeling of insecurity. And when we feel insecure, we get afraid. And when we are afraid, we distance ourselves from the unknown. This is why far too many HIV-positive people are cut off from other people, afraid to stand forward or to talk openly about their disease. Not from fear of dying, but from fear of the outside world’s reaction.
There is still no vaccine against HIV. But luckily we have a vaccine against HIV phobia. The cure is knowledge. Because only by talking about HIV – about how HIV is transmitted and especially how HIV is not transmitted, we can eliminate doubt and insecurity. Let it be shouted from the rooftops that HIV is not transmitted through social contact. Kissing and hugging cannot transmit HIV. There is no reason to keep a distance.
So let us use World AIDS Day to fight the unfounded fear of HIV, because this fear only hurts people. Let’s kill off the HIV phobia. Let’s start today.

Thank you for listening.

Drengekort

Here are two cards for little boys. They went up on Love2Scraps blog today and are made with leftover scraps from a baby scrapbook class I just taught.

Hard Core {Holiday} Crop

Welcome to the 2nd Hard Core Crop! This crop is all about getting you inspired to create for the Holidays. Design Team Member and guest designers will be hosting challenges on their blogs and giving away great prizes!

Please head over to the CORE BLOG for full details and crop rules. And we have a Facebook Hard Core Crop page HERE to chat and hang out with fellow Hard Core Croppers. So make sure you head over there, too. Feel free to invite your friends, too! You never know when challenges or giveaways will pop up over there.

*****

My challenge to you is to create SOMETHING FOR GIFT WRAPPING
It could be a giftbox, giftcard holder, tags, giftbag, garlands for wrapping around presents, etc.
The rules are simple: Anything goes, as long as it's something to hold or embellish a gift that includes Core'dinations cardstock!

*****

For this challenge I have created a few gift wrapping ideas to get you inspired. First up is a clothspin with a Poinsettia to embellish e.g. a giftbag.

The flower was created using the Tim Holtz Distress Collection. I sanded the cardstock and used matching Distress ink. Both techniques together give such a beautiful dimension to the flower.

Next are some cards to hold your 'flat presents'. I have used the new David Tutera Celebrate Card Making System to create the cards. Check out the David Tutera How-To section of the website for a FREE downloadable PDF of these projects (and more).

First a card for holding a CD/DVD:

And what about a sewn garland to wrap around a gift? This garland was made using the David Tutera Flower Seals and snowflakes punched from Glitter Silk cardstock.

The winner of this challenge will get a David Tutera Celebrate prize package.

(content of prize package may vary but will be equal value of what you see above)

(Challenges must use the link tool below. If you do not have a blog, please feel free to use Photobucket, Flickr or any other photo sharing site that provides links. You must use Core'dinations ColorCore cardstock (which includes David Tutera Celebrate products) to win this challenge. Feel free to use other products, too. You may NOT combine this challenge with any of the other HCC challenges but you may complete this challenge as many times as you like. You must link by 8pm, December 2nd).

Upload your gift wrapping idea using the inlinkz tool below. And don't forget to share on Facebook, too...

I hope you are inspired to create something for GIFT WRAPPING! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

H is for Happy!

I have been blessed with two boys who absolutely love their beds! Here is a picture of my happy little baby all tugged into his favorite corner of the bed.

The amazing Jack Sparrow!

Asbjørn loves to dress up and since he grew out of his beloved Captain Hook costume it was time for a new pirate costume. We found one at the Disney store in Florence last fall. Meet the new Jack Sparrow!

I finally finished some layouts last week (actually five.yeah!) while having a great time with my girlfriend. Could totally get use to that ;-)
This went up on scrapper's blog today. Ive used Echo Park's new For the Record collection. Haven't been using patterned paper as a background for a while, but I like how the busy paper still leaves the focus on the photos. Can you believe my baby boy is such a big boy already?

Hope you have an awesome day... Thanks for stopping by today!

Brandt-Lassen Photo

A year ago I mentioned I was working on something exciting. Then I had a difficult pregnancy, a baby and very little time! Now I am finally ready to promote my photography blog. I am a year behind on updating it with photos but plan to catch up. Here are some newborn pics from my most recent blogpost and a few samples of the type of photos I take.

Check out my photopraphy blog and please do stop by and like my page on Facebook.

Velkommen sommer

I am really in a creative drough when it comes to layouts. Hope it gets better soon. Have a crop tomorrow and hope to finish a few pages!I created this recently with an old early-summer photo from last year. It was heavily inspired by my favorite page done by the fabulous Sophie Crespy.

David Tutera Cards

I think it's about time I share a few cards I did with the David Tutera Celebrate Cardmaking System. This system is brilliant with everything already diecut and ready to go. It takes just minutes to do a card, and I'm all into finishing my projects really fast :-)

The sunburst card is up on the Core'dinations blog and how-to's are available on the webpage for these two following cards: (a how-to for the sunburst card will be there soon).

And save the date for a Hard Core Crop at the end of the month! Lots of challenges and great prizes. I participated this summer and had so much fun. Totally fell in love with sanding my cardstock...
